| | Obituary: | ***REVISED VISITATION TIMES*** Erik W. Carmelia, of Eastampton passed away suddenly on Monday, February 1, 2010. He was 21. Erik was a 2007 graduate of RV Regional High School. After graduating he attended Bowling Green State University of Ohio for two semesters in the fall of 2007 and spring of 2008 where he was on the Dean’s List and attended awards dinners for his achievement in First Year Russian and First Year German. He later transferred to Rutgers University in the fall of 2008 where he made the Dean’s List again and attended the Rutgers University Academic Excellence Awards ceremony for the School of Arts & Science on April 26, 2009. He traveled to Russia for six weeks in the summer of 2009 for the Russian and East European Languages and Literatures Program where he received a certificate for completing 120 academic hours of course work and so much more. Erik was planning on going to Germany with the Rutgers Summer Program in 2010 and then spending 6 weeks in Senagal, Africa. He was an avid reader of Russian, German, and French literature, often reading in their native languages. He had an extensive library and foreign film collection. He also had every season of ‘The Simpsons” on DVD. Grandson of the late Bill & Pat Ubele; Nephew of the late Bill Ubele Jr.; he is survived by his loving parents, Keith Carmelia, Clare Ubele Ferris (Joseph); two beloved brothers, Jonathan & Ian Carmelia; seven step-siblings, Stephanie, Joseph, Brian, Jonathan, Shane, David, & Stephen Ferris; his loving paternal grandparents, William & Delores Carmelia; five beloved aunts, Lynn Carmelia, Joan Isaia (the late Jim), Debbie Speer (Chris), Pam Frambes (Dave), Peggy Peak (Ken); four loving uncles, Bob Carmelia (Dottie), Michael Carmelia (Espie), Michael Ubele (Mark Hewitt), Patrick Ubele (Audrey); and many loving and supportive cousins. The family would like to thank all of their friends for their love and support. A special thank you is given to our friends at Rutgers University who have been so supportive. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Saturday, February 13th from 2 to 4 pm at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Interment will be private.
